THE NEW TESTAMENT

The New Testament consists of five main elements:
The Synoptic Gospels (written from limitted sources and largely copying Mark)
Gospels of Matthew, Gospel of Mark and Gospel of Luke
John's Gospel presents much the same message from a different perspective.
The Book of Revelation which seems largely irrelevant to what Jesus taught and our daily faith.
The Book of Acts which purports to continue the story of the Early Church.
The Epistles which preach a different message, from a variety of writers
and over a extensive timescale with a progressive agenda.
It can seem very confusing!

None of the authors actually met Jesus, despite priestly insistence.
There are no vibrant first-person descriptions.
Even Paul's insistence has no credibility.
